These are lines from the famous Athenian play Romeo and Juliet. It is never too late to talk about Shakespeare whose unrivalled masterpieces are perennially held in high esteem.

These lines are just prior to the tomb scene, so they dramatically incline towards a tragic denouement for the play, a work that has been made into a movie also (enacted by Leonardo Di Caprio)

The Capulets daughter, who is a prized possession, and the Capulets coming into a brutal encounter with Romeo’s patriarchy evokes a lot of heart-rendering tragic pathos, with the consequence of the two lovers dying without consummating their love.

The poison does work wonderfully well for Shakespeare’s plot alleviating the feasibilibity of a love-story to have a happy conclusion. In this retrospect Romeo and Juliet has become a one of a kind love legacy. Fortune has decided the fate of both, and even with the close possibility of each being united with each other it does not result favourably.

When a sleep-inducing potion is taken by Juliet, that successfully disrupts her wedding to Romeo’s adversary, it cannot put to rest the anguished rage of Romeo who is distraught at Juliet’s fake funeral and consequently led to consume actual poison. When Juliet awakens from her trance, she is left with no other option other than stabbing herself.
