Amitabh Bachchan’s superb acting skills in ‘Paa’, has gained the sympathy of Gujarat and West Bengal governments who have declared the flick to be tax free in their respective states.
Amitabh Bachchan(Libra), Abhishek Bachchan(aquarian), Vidya Balan(Capricorn) starrer flick has already fetched Rs 50 crore .The astrofreak that I am, let me tell you an interesting fact.Vidya Balan is a south Indian like aishwarya rai, asiwarya rai asin, and depika padukone, and somehow south Indians are deeply successful in the Eastern coast of the Indian subcontinent wherein lies Mumbai, the slowly drowning vestige of Bollywood paparazzi.
In lieu of the tax exemption shown to Amitabh Bacchan in the 2 States (also a book by Chetan Bhagat) the actor has not lately made any donations that I hear via the media, to the holy trinity/( duality ?) in the South Indian temples. Its indeed a pity now that Aishwarya Rai Bacchan is part of the highly controvertialized family(solely because they commercialize everything, from watches to washing machines!!!), no more visits to the mandir are coming to the show J !!!
The exemption from entertainment tax will further help the AB Corp with its finances. Sources close to Amitabh Bachchan say that while Gujarat’s Chief Minister had himself proposed to exempt the film from any form of taxation, Jaya Bachchan’s Bengal connection seemed to have worked in West Bengal.
As is well known, Jaya Bachchan(uncategorised ! ishhhh!!!) comes from a Bengali family in Kolkata and married Amitabh in Mumbai during her acting career in bollywood. Even, Big B was employed in Kolkata with a firm before deciding to move to Mumbai for a try in bollywood.
Sources say that Amitabh Bachchan has also been trying to get the tax exemption in other states of the country but unfortunately Congress ruled states have not shown the same consideration towards ‘Paa’, as the opposition ruled states (like Gujarat and West Bengal) have shown. However I keep hearing that the CPM is doing a pretty bad job from the commonest of folks.
Personally I have no comments in regard to who Mumbai-ites are clawing for the jeopardy that will befall them, and hence the consequent Noah’s arch.
