David Headley , a Chicago resident has been charged with involvement in the deadly attacks of last year’s Mumbai terrorist which left 173 people dead. Headley was detained in October for planning the murder of a Danish newspaper cartoonist.
David Headley a U.S. citizen is a Pakistani national; he identified targets for the mass coordinated terror attacks that began on November 26, 2008. He spent the better part of a year travelling around India seeking possible targets.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, David Headley travelled to India 5 separate times between 2006 and 2008, each time returning with photos, videos and oral descriptions which he then passed off to a
Pakistani militant group. It was a completely organized attack.Headley had spent time at terrorist training camps in 2002 and 2003 in connection with the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is indeed strange that with so many restrictions so many details and organized data were collected for the successful execution of the hideous plan.
Headley is charged with 6 counts of conspiracy in connection with the Mumbai attacks and the Danish plot. Officials are not finished with Chicago; David Headley isn’t the only suspect who resides in the Windy City according to authorities. Another man is currently under investigation as well.
The Chicago man David Headley changed his name from Daood Gilani in order not to appear Muslim, he wanted to appear to be American. He spent time in New York as well as Philadelphia before ending up in Chicago. Watch the video below about David Headley Chicago man arrested for Mumbai attacks.
