The film “Blair Witch Project” was on the rampage in 1999. The backdrop is 1994, and the film shows four students who set out to shoot a documentary about her, who resides in the fabled area of Burkittsville in Maryland, which was formerly known as Blair. The idea of the film struck the director while he was still studying in the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
When the movie essentially materialized, it was shot and promoted in such a way that it conjectured that the whole Blair Witch Project is a true story. The director involved three young actors in the role of three student filmmakers who set about on filming a documentary on the Blair Witch. The treatment of the concept is very novel, and few are aware that its only a matter of skillful imagination rather than a reality as it appears in the narrative.The film is based on the footage that these directors shot, and the realistic feel of the film made people wonder whether the “Blair Witch Project” was the footage of a true story or not.
The actors were asked to actually film the area while the actual crew hid in the forest and shot the film. The actors were given instructions every morning, not having any clue about what would come next, nor were they in touch with the other actors. The sense of disco-ordination adds to the mystery and thrill of the movie.
Moreover, when the film was premiered, there were missing posters all over the city, requesting information on the missing actors. It was extremely packaged as an entertainer.
To make matters more confusing, the actors go by their own names in the film, which was enough to create the supposition that the “Blair Witch Project” was a true event.
