The 67-year-old Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will enact the role of a 13-year-old in his forthcoming release ‘Paa‘ which is planning to be released on the 4th of December, 2009. Hey I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but on a lighter note, this juvenile adventure should should miraculously sort out his stomach ailment, should not it? Atleast psychologically…..
The film has been filmed in UK and India. The movie has been directed by R. Balakrishnan and has a star-cast comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, and Paresh Rawal. I don’t know about you but I find Rawal to be the masala ingredient in any movie. He can handle plot trouble, or add to the storyline.Versatile actors like these give definition to stronger roles performed by other leading actors.
The director of Paa”,aka Balki, is an adman and the Creative Director of Lowe, handling the account of Unilever. Music has been composed by Ilaiyaraaja, who had won the ‘National Film Award’ for Best music Direction. The musician from south and Balki have worked together previously in the movie ‘Cheeni Kum’, which starred Amitabh Bachchan along with the veteran actor Tabu. Now if you have watched this film , you will know that what was basically a success here was a novel concept. In “Paa” too, we can expect just that again.
The movie, ‘Paa‘ revolves around a 13-year old boy who suffers from a rare genetic disorder called Progeria. Progeria takes place as a sort of mutation and is not hereditary, which makes a child age prematurely- killing him by the age of 15, out of a coronary failure. 13 year old Auro, played by Amitabh Bachchan is witty and very intelligent. His mother, a gynecologist is played by Vidya Balan and his father Amol Arte, is played by Abhishek Bachchan. So this will be a great turn in the career of Abhishek, since this role will let him rub shoulders with Amitabh aka Profundity!!!!
Amol enacted by Abhishek,is a politician, an ideologist who wants to prove that unlike common notion the world of politics is not all bad. The whole plot of ‘Paa‘ spans the relationship between the father and his ailing son. For the father-son duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, it must have been the experience of a lifetime reversing the roles for once, when Abhishek gets to play the father of his “real life” father. “Paa” is certainly going to be a treat on some grounds.Hmm. not in ordinary life do we get hold of such adventurous moments, and funfilled too.I am already curious about what must have happened behind the shots…..
